Division Objectives

• Ensure that quality assurance management is implemented efficiently, accurately, and effectively based on UIS Academic Regulations, and enforce other regulations in line with the University's vision, mission and direction.

• Ensure that strategic plans are developed in line with the University's vision, mission, national education policies, industry needs and other relevant policies.

Division Functions

HEAD OF DIVISION

• Preparing the division's plan.

• Setting the KPIs for the division and its sections.

• Informing, coordinating, and monitoring the implementation of current policies and regulations set by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE), the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA), SIRIM, and other relevant agencies.

• Planning, assisting with, and coordinating quality assurance activities and processes for academic programmes to ensure compliance with established acts, standards, and guidelines.

• Planning activities to enhance the Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) system and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives.

• Planning and coordinating the development of the strategic plan for Selangor Islamic University (UIS).

• Attending key meetings related to undergraduate and postgraduate academic matters, including the Senate Meeting, the Academic Development and Management Committee Meeting (JKPPA), the Postgraduate Committee Meeting (JKPS), the UIS Programme Evaluation Committee (JKPPPU), and other relevant meetings.

• Coordinating workshops to develop SOPs, guidelines, and teaching and learning instruments that comply with the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) standards on academic quality, in collaboration with relevant departments.

• Presenting papers related to academic quality for approval at the UIS level, if necessary.

• Planning and coordinating programme activities in accordance with MS ISO 9001:2015 standards.

• Monitoring and coordinating the accreditation of UIS academic programmes.

• Preparing the annual budget plan.

• Supervising and managing the administration of the division.

• Performing ad hoc tasks related to academic quality as needed.

ACCREDITATION SECTION

• Preparing the annual activity plan for the Accreditation Section.

• Coordinating activities related to the accreditation of UIS academic programmes, including assisting in the preparation of documents, applications, approvals, feedback, evaluation visits, and other related tasks in compliance with the requirements of the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE), Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA), and other relevant agencies.

• Monitoring the quality assurance processes of academic programmes to ensure compliance with the acts, policies, standards, guidelines, and other regulations established by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE), Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA), and other relevant agencies.

• Collaborating with relevant departments to identify needs for guidance and training.

• Providing guidance and assistance in clarifying accreditation processes as needed.

• Performing ad hoc tasks related to accreditation or other assigned matters as needed.

QUALITY ASSURANCE SECTION

• Preparing the activity plan for the Quality Assurance Section.

• Monitoring compliance with the requirements of the MS ISO 9001:2015 standard.

• Reviewing and updating ISO procedures under the MS ISO 9001:2015 standard periodically.

• Planning and coordinating internal quality audit activities, as well as SIRIM audit visits, in collaboration with the UIS Quality Management System Committee.

• Planning and coordinating training workshops on quality management, as well as providing guidance and support to clarify requirements related to the ISO 9001:2015 standard.

• Monitoring the achievement of KPIs for each committee under the UIS Strategic Plan.

• Planning and coordinating training workshops related to the UIS Strategic Plan.

• Managing the presentation of the strategic plan at the UIS level.

• Performing ad hoc tasks related to quality management and other assigned responsibilities as needed.
