The 7kg-mace was first displayed at the sixth UIS Convocation Ceremony as a symbol of declaration for the awarding of diplomas. Each engraved symbol has an individual meaning to illustrate the overall commitment and inspiration behind the establishment of UIS as a centre of knowledge excellence.
The crescent moon signifies Islamic development and progress in Selangor, while the various branches in the centre symbolise the unity of knowledge. The dome shape at the top of the mace symbolises Islam as the official religion of Selangor. The nine Tanjung Flower Carvings represent the nine districts of Selangor that have put their trust in UIS to be a catalyst towards promoting future civil society.
The carvings of Landmarks, Orchids and the Selangor State Government Logo symbolise the good relationship and full support of the Selangor State Government towards the development and progress of UIS.
